Product Information:

To ensure optimal nutrient absorption, plants require the correct pH level (acidity/alkalinity) in the soil. Understanding your soil’s pH is crucial, as each plant has a specific pH preference. Testing your soil periodically is essential throughout the growing season. It is particularly recommended before spring planting and when preparing autumn beds. If your plants show signs of poor growth, a soil test can be beneficial.

How to test: Simply place a dry soil sample into the test tube, add the solution along with barium sulphate, shake, and observe the colour development. This process is best performed with a dry soil sample at room temperature (approximately 19°C). By knowing the pH level of your soil, you can select plants with similar preferences, avoid those incompatible with your soil, or cater to their specific growing needs.

Contains enough for 15 pH tests. Easy to use with instruction sheet supplied.

Pack contains enough to perform 15 tests.

The colour of my liquid is not shown on the colour chart, what have I done wrong?

There could be two reasons for this, the soil used is too cold. The test is best done with the soil at room temperature (approx 19°) or the test needs to be left a bit longer to develop. Leave it up to 24 hours and recheck the colour again. If neither of these solutions work, then redo the test and ensure that the measurements are accurate.
